Confirmation/Teen Program

Oseh Shalom's Teen program combines a stimulating Confirmation/ Post Confirmation program with a relaxing social atmosphere geared to helping teens connect. In 8th Grade, students study Jewish history through learning about individuals who lived during various times in our history. Ninth graders explore Jewish values and ethics as a part of their Jewish self-identity.  Our 10th graders study Comparative Religion and Jewish approaches to Torah, God, and Israel with the Rabbi.  Our post-Confirmation students (our 11^th and 12^th graders) grapple with “hot topics,” such as college decisions, Jewish leadership values, current events. Through educational and social interactions, the teenagers will begin to realize their own voices in the Jewish Community and how they too can change the world.

The Upper School Program Schedule includes:

6:45- 7:15:    Optional Social Time and Dinner (MUST BE PREPAID)
7:15- 8:00:    Core Classes by Grade Level: 8^th, 9^th, 10^th, and 11^th /12^th
8:00-8:15:     Break and Snack
8:15- 9:00:    Elective Classes (Mini courses which change approximately every 4 weeks)
