Final movie of the Jewish Film Series—“Deli Man” with a pre-movie dinner, Sunday, March 24 at 6:00 pm for dinner and 7:15 for movie
Do you love deli? Who doesn’t!! Join us for a kosher deli sandwich dinner and showing of the documentary “Deli Man” on Sunday, March 24 at 6:00 pm for dinner (7:15 for the movie). This documentary is a history of the American institution of the Jewish delicatessen, structured around a profile of Houston restaurateur David “Ziggy” Gruber — a third- generation “deli man” and the film’s genial tour guide. According to the Washington Post, “Like a fat slab of pastrami, ‘Deli Man’ is the cinematic equivalent of comfort food: warm, generous and made with love.”
To put you in the deli mood, the kosher deli sandwich dinner will consist of deli meat sandwiches, pickles, potato salad, coleslaw, drinks and cookies . The cost of the dinner is $10 per person, the movie is free. Please RSVP for dinner with payment via Sign-up Genius by Monday, March 18. If you have dietary issues, please contact Val Kaplan at 301-604-8134.
If you can’t come for dinner, come for the movie!
