Making Jewish Prayer Real with Rabbis Daria & Josh

November 2, 2020
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

So many of us experience deep barriers to prayer. Working in consultation with Oseh member Dan Glaser, and using the book Making Prayer Real as a curriculum, Rabbis Daria and Josh will lead a multi-session class exploring how to make prayer less of a struggle and more meaningful and nourishing. The class will include both discussion, partner-based chevruta learning, and experiential exercises. We’ll address questions such as “Why pray?” “Why is prayer difficult?” “What does prayer really do?” and much more. We’ll be offering the first two sessions of our five session class during the month of Elul, before the High Holy Days, to provide some insightful tools to help deepen our High Holy Day service experience and provide a foundation for connecting with prayer for the High Holy Days and the rest of the year.

This class series does require about 15-20 pages of reading before each class in order to best set us up for success and to expand and deepen our class discussion. The class uses the book Making Prayer Real, by Rabbi Mike Comins. Please email Rabbi Josh at rabbi.josh18@gmail.com if you have any questions.

August 31, Sept. 7, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, and Nov. 2, 7-8:30pm. Join via Zoom using the HHD password sent separately.
